Step 1

Click the 'Login' Button

A small login window will pop up.

Enter your Betfair username and password. Click 'Enter'
You do not need to login to Betfair to run The Betometer. But to take advantage of the fast market refresh speed and make ‘real’ bets then you need to do so.

If you don’t want to use your Betfair bank you can use the Test Mode ‘virtual bank’ instead.

Your login status will be shown together with the

balance of your Betfair account.

Click here to learn about the funds button.

While you are learning about The Betometer, we suggest that you use 'TEST MODE'

Test Mode lets you practice with The Betometer but without risking any money.

Test Mode allows all functions work as they normally do, but any bets you make are not sent to Betfair. They are still listed as normal but they are not 'real' bets.

When Test Mode is 'On' the button will flash.

Under the funds button you can also set up a ‘virtual bank’

Step 2

Load your Markets ~ Make sure you load a WIN market
These are markets that
do not show ‘place’ , ‘AvB’ , ‘W/O’ , ‘RFC’ etc in the title

Step 4

This calculates the best stake for both the chosen market and your betting bank, based on the Value of the bet.

Make sure that your Betfair balance is showing correctly once the previous result is known by clicking the Funds Button. The balance is updated automatically by Betfair.

This Enhanced Staking  is key to successful betting. It will provide long term easy profits and prevents you from losing your bank or chasing losses.

The default percentage of your bank for your stake is set to a maximum of 5%. You can change this by right clicking the Enhanced Staking button with your mouse and then enter your required % in the pop up box.

If you turn the Enhanced Staking button off then you can set your own stake.

NB the Enhanced stakes are calculated when ever the market starting prices are updated. You can update the stakes manually simply by clicking off and on again the Enhanced Staking button.

Click the Dutched Example button
This calculates the Value in the chosen market.

Step 5 and 6

Click either the Back Dutch or Lay Dutch button

Dutching is described in detail in the main Betometer help guide. Click here

Initially choose the Lay dutching button with  the stake in the red Maximum Liability box as calculated by the program.
(NB This is set as the default setting by the program)

This will keep your risk small to start.

NB If you choose the Minimum Profit box then your liability will increase and may exceed 10% of your bank.

Step 7

Place your bet as close to the start of the race as possible.
Your bets are listed and confirmed in the list bets box

You  can hear commentary or see a live video of the race via the Radio Browser

The runners are chosen automatically by the program to get the best possible outcome.

Once the runners are selected you may if you wish turn the Dutched Example button off and manually change runners or target figures. This will change the staking accordingly.

NB The Dutched Example button will not update the runners if the market is in play.
